Methods of distinguishing between the authentic and fake thermal barrier strips
In view of sophisticated international thermal barrier strip market, some adopt common plastic of non-structure materials such as ABS, PP, even PVC to replace the engineering plastic to make the so-called thermal barrier strip. One method of easily distinguishing between the real and fake thermal barrier strip is hereby provided:
Put the thermal barrier strips make of PVC, ABS, PP, PA6 (nylon6), PA66 and other materials into the oven and heat up. Those Softening and degradation occur around 90°C are PVC materials; those around 160°C are PP materials and ABS materials, those around 210°C are PA6 materials, however when the temperature of the thermal barrier strip made of PA66 materials if under 240°C, there is no obvious change on the appearance.
In short, the quality of thermal barrier strip is the one without any obvious change on the appearance under the high temperature between 210°C - 240°C.
